Creating Your Wedding
Once you’ve decided on your date and venue and have decided you’d like one of us (or both of us) to hold your ceremony we will reconfirm in writing and ask you to pay a deposit.
Once we’ve received your deposit our next steps include gathering information from you. Personal information and practical information – everything from what you love about your intended to whether you plan to have an order of service.
Whether you know clearly what you’d like to have musically or whether you’d like ideas and suggestions from us, we take our lead from you.
You may have friends who could sing a solo piece or you may be part of a choir and want your choir to sing? And you may not wish to have any music at your ceremony? As with all elements of the ceremony we create for you, it’s your choice.
We’ve put together a large selection of readings and quotations from various sources which include old favourites plus some different more original options.
Once we’ve found out a bit about you and what flavour your wedding will take we can make suggestions or you can read through the selection and pick out the ones you really like. You may also already have picked your favourite readings from elsewhere which we’ll use.
It’s always nice to invite close friends or family to actively take part in your marriage ceremony and one way of having them join in is to have them read your chosen pieces.
All our ceremonies are written to use the language and symbology that fit for you, whilst also making the beliefs of your family and friends welcome.
We gather together all the different elements and aspects you’d like for your ceremony and then we turn it into a ceremony. Once we’ve written it we then let you hear it or see it to ensure you’re 100% happy with everything.
All then that remains is to show up on the day!
(We’re also open to rehearsing prior to the ceremony on the day or the day before if you or we feel it’s necessary!)
